the work from class; modernism

This page shows the link between the primitivists like Miro (pronounced Meero) and Klee (pronounced Clay) approached "pure form" and compares them with the pure abstractionists (like the Abstract Expressionists), who sought to not be held back by the image. Miro actually thought that the childlike (naive) forms of children were more pure and spiritual than the centuries-old representation of traditional artists. It is just another stage in the constant theme of the 19th and 20th Centuries of artists trying to rid themselves of their (Renaissance) history.
